The rules for sound metering at national events has changed. Our first and foremost concern is adhering to the sound policies of our site.
The new rules are metering on a different scale, dBC as opposed to the current scale of dBA. The current limit is 100 dBA. The new sound limit for national events in 2024 is 108dBC, with the intention of lowering that standard to 105 dBC for the 2025 season.
The expectation is that more cars will read higher on the dBC scale. We will be experimenting with the two scales to verify we are still in compliance with our local standards before we are able to record on the new scale for those wanting to know where they stand before attending a national event.
